Introduction to the GuideThis site aims to provide a simple and easily accessible e-support toolkit for anyone involved in managing projects. It is designed to be located on an organisations' intranet as a support to project teams, training workshops, and coaching. We don't ask you to register but if you find it useful please drop an e-mail with any comments to Fred Sherwin. In recent years the formal use of projects as a style of working has escalated in all organisations, both private and public sector. In the future, for many people much if not all of their work is likely to be carried out in the form of projects. However, unless projects are tackled with thought and care, they can go amiss. Over the past fifty years or so, project management has evolved as a pragmatic and structured approach to bringing some order to such situations. This guide describes the project management approach and the tools and techniques commonly used to set-up, plan, and organise projects.
