Using WORD to make a STAGES diagram
To create the above:
- Create a text box, type in Project Scoping, make
it Bold, and then centre justify it. Then colour the box filling yellow with "Format Text Box" - see
WORD Drawing Tools.
- Move it into position by selecting it (by clicking the cursor on
the box edges) and dragging it into position on the page
- You can create the other boxes in the same way but to save time
you can duplicate it by selecting the box and pressing Ctrl D.
- Drag this new box into position and change the typing from
Project Scoping Study to Outline Design. Do the same for the other two boxes.
- When all four boxes are correctly laid-out,
go to AutoShapes - Block Arrows and select an arrow to use. Using the hairline cursor
draw an arrow between the first two boxes and fill it with blue with "Format Text Box".
Then duplicate this for the other boxes.
- Create a new box, type in Scoping Report
and drag it into
position. Remove the border by Right-Clicking on the box, selecting "Format
Text Box" and selecting "Line Colour" - "No Line".
- Draw
an ordinary line arrow and drag it into position.
- Do the same for Proposed Outline and Final Plan &
Design.
- Finally, to avoid moving parts by mistake, select all the boxes and arrows and group them into one object.
